Letter to the Editor of The Niagara Advance

Letter to the Advance

In response to the article and editorial in the December 4th issue of the Advance, Parliament Oak School Parent council would like to state that contrary to what was printed in the article, there was in fact a motion passed by town council on May 5th 2008 and ratified on May 12th 2008, that supported "a new elementary school on the NDSS site for Virgil and Colonel John Butler students".

The proposed boundary changes for Parliament Oak do place the NDSS site within its catchment area. This information can be found in the "DSBN Report of Board Administration on 2007/08 Niagara-on-the-Lake Accommodation Review, April 8, 2008", Appendix B2 on page 29.

The boundary issue for all the schools is a sizable one but for the parents of Parliament Oak school, it is of great concern. It is the responsibility of parent council to act on concerns brought forward by their parent community

Sincerely
Parliament Oak Parent Council
